Michael J. Schumacher, based in Brooklyn, has innovated in spatialized sound and algorithmic composition since the 1980s. He creates multi-channel "Room Pieces" and the "Portable Multi-channel Sound System." He founded Diapason Sound Art gallery, presenting over 300 artists. His works are featured globally, with music published by XI Records and others. Schumacher collaborates with the Liz Gerring Dance Company and choreographer Sally Silvers. He holds degrees from Indiana University and Juilliard, and lectures at NYU, Bard, RPI, and Berlin's TU.
