Yin System, 10'01", 2023

Teng Qingqing is born in Hunan, China . Her works includes electroacoustic music, electronic music mix, improvisation, sound installation, sound design, and art video soundtracks.

During her studies, she became interested in music theater, and tried to combine electronic music
with it to create a new form of music expression "electronic music theater." In Teng Qingqing's works, the performers on stage are no longer simply defined as dancers, percussionists, vocalists or drama actors... but as a complex multifaceted interpretor. The aim is to make the electronic music itself more humanistic and dramatic through the combination of stage design, lighting design, script creation and the use of the player's body. Her works is often done in collaboration with other artists. She received orders from the Proxima Centauri and Alcôme ensembles, Beijing Cultural Center Museum and PAS International Percussion Festival (China).

Bernard Parmegiani

presented by Daniel Teruggi

Live in Vienna
Circuit Fantôme Season 3 Episode 4

Octophonic listening session
De natura sonorum, 50’ / 1975
to be presented and performed live by Daniel Teruggi

Parmegiani about De Natura Sonorum:
"[In it] I distanced myself from the power of sound, from what I call the power of Orpheus. Orpheus charmed the plants and animals with his lyre, and in the pieces I composed prior to De Natura Sonorum I was under the spell of the sounds: I created sounds that evolved and that I found satisfying and I left it at that."

Bernard Parmegiani — initially studied mime, and then worked as a television sound engineer, but decided to work under Schaeffer at his then newly formed musique concrète research group, the Groupe de Recherches Musicales (GRM), in Paris. While there he worked with Iannis Xenakis, François-Bernard Mache and many other early experimental composers. If the start of his career was overshadowed by Schaeffer and other GRM luminaries, his later work has proven to be widely influential on subsequent generations of electroacoustic and electronic music composers, including Aphex Twin, Autechre, Keith Fullerton Whitman and many others.

ACOUSMONIUM 2023

International festival of multichannel electroacoustic music

ACOUSMONIUM festival was launched by the Floating Sound Gallery as an annual platform for international artists in 2018 at the New Stage of Alexandrinsky Theater St.Petersburg. It offers a platform of the “loudspeakers orchestra”, proposed by Francois Bayle in 1974 as an environment for live concert situation of electronically made music, to communicate the works of experimental genres.

This year we enjoy the collaboration with two contemporary classics - ALCÔME of France, who are not only bringing their program but also their loudspeakers system, and Diapason, pioneers of multichannel in New York.
