Tu, Yen-Hao is a Taipei-based composer, sound designer, new media artist who collaborates with many artists around the world. He has two bachelor degrees in Management of Information System and Radio & Television. And now he is studying master degree in National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (major in electronic music composition under Dr.Tseng's guidance) and National Cheng Chi University (major in digital content and technology under Dr. Ya-lun Taoʼs guidance) at the same time. As a multidisciplinary artist, he tries to integrate his knowledge into his own art language. Recently, his contemporary music pieces were shortlisted in NYCEMF2022, 2023, and ICMC 2023. He also create sound installations to talk about the over-development issue in the cities and the sociality.


A piano experiment

What I want to achieve is to explore the possibility of the sound of piano and to manipulate the texture of the original sound from the piano. I recorded several sound clips such as splashing, sustained overtones, finger knocking... By only using the sound source from the piano, although there are different kinds of elements, they still connect to each other.
