Biography
Jean-Baptiste Favory (born 1967) is a French sound artist and composer known for musique concrète, electronic, and instrumental music.
He began composing in 1989, with early works broadcast on France Culture in 1994. Favory created the first sound design for Infogrames in 1995 and started composing for theater.
From 1996 to 1999, he worked in Luc Ferrari's studios and assisted renowned composers. He studied at the Iannis Xenakis musical center and later became a sound engineer for Paul Méfano and Eliane Radigue.
Since 1999, Favory has hosted the experimental music radio show Epsilona. He has contributed to theater productions since 2000 and joined the Circle for Liberation of Sounds and Images (CLSI) in 2007, performing at the Stockhausen festival.
In 2022-2023, his piece "Des spheres" was featured at La Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie in Paris. Favory's works are performed internationally and released in various formats.
