About the Series

OCTOPHONIC SERIES, ACCOMPANIED BY VIDEO POSTCARDS — The performance series is put together by Daniel Teruggi + Anton Iakhontov and takes place in Vronihof, 1170 Vienna. Multichannel works of international composers/sound artists will be presented in an octophonic setup. Artists are invited to present their work:s. The piece:s will be played in a loop for two days; the listener is invited to experience sound in a unique way.

Circuit fantôme is a descriptive characteristic coined by François Bayle during the round table at the first St. Petersburg ACOUSMONIUM festival in 2018. Contemplating on the issues of habitat of electroacoustic music, he underscored that, being born to parents – technology and music – it remains unrecognized by neither of them, and thus doomed to maintain the roaming existence, hijacking the existing infrastructure if the existing institutions, functioning as a ghost circuit - circuit fantôme.

Die Performance-Reihe wurde von Daniel Teruggi + Anton Iakhontov konzipiert und findet im Vronihof in 1170 Wien statt. Mehrkanalige Werke internationaler Klangkünstler:innen / Komponist:innen werden im Achtkanal-Setting präsentiert. Alle ein bis zwei Wochen wird ein:e Künstler:in eingeladen, ein Stück zu präsentieren. Das:die jeweilige:n Werk:e und die dazugehörige Video-Postkarte werden für zwei Tage lang im Loop widergegeben.

Der Begriff Circuit Fantôme wurde im Rahmen eines Round Table Talks beim St. Petersburger ACOUSMONIUM Festival 2018 erstmals von François Bayle verwendet. Bei seinen Überlegungen zur Heimat der elektroakustischen Musik stellte er fest, dass sie von ihren „Eltern“ – der Technologie und der Musik – erschaffen wurde und nun dazu verdammt ist, eine unstete Existenz zu führen, wobei sie bestehende Infrastruktur und Institutionen in Bechlag nimmt und dort als Circuit Fantôme („Phantomkreislauf“) ihr Unwesen treibt.
