Valeria Maglio
Valeria Maglio (Taranto, 1993), based in Italy, began her formal studies in 2023 at the Duni Conservatory in Matera under the guidance of maestro Franco Degrassi. It was within this institution that she developed a deep passion for acousmatic music. She further specialized in
this field by studying the performance and spatialization of acousmatic works with the M.A.R.E. association in Bari, under the direction of Vincenzo Procino.
Her sonic exploration is rooted in the privacy of her bedroom before expanding into outdoor spaces. Traveling from her confined studio to the open air, she captures the world and matter through sound photographs. These moments, captured and imprinted on her recorder, form the library of her inspiration. Working from these concrete materials, which she combines with digitally generated sound objects, her research revolves around sound in all its morphologies, phenomena, and modes of manipulation or anecdotal citation.
She is also active as a live electronics performer within the Intermedia Laptop Ensemble of the Duni Conservatory.
